Slate Roofing
Slate benefits from a number of highly practical properties. It is exceptionally durable, unaffected by normal extremes of temperature and is highly resistant to acids, alkalis and other chemicals. It retains its colour, even in UV light and is impermeable to water.
In addition, it is non-combustible and compatible with all other building materials. Slate is easily maintained, making it an economical choice for all building purposes and is readily available In a variety of sizes, colours and textures.

Welsh Slate is available for roofing applications in various elegant colours that are further complemented by the riven texture of slate.
These aesthetic qualities are combined with the material's natural durability and resistance to weather and temperature, making slate superbly adaptable and ideal for all environments
The variety of colours and special shaped slates can be used to create decorative bands or effects. These can be produced in most sizes to individual requirements.

As well as traditional Welsh and English slate, a full range of quality assured Canadian, Spanish and Chinese slates are becoming more available as the demand for natural slate increases.
Chinese slate is available in at least six colours similar to colours found in the slate mines of the United Kingdom.

Man-made slate
Many tile manufacturers are now supplying reconstituted man-made slate products for a wide range of applications.
Benefits include the versatility of the single lap slates which are designed to be laid to roof areas deemed to be too low-pitched for traditional double-lap slates.
These materials are usually composed of at least 60% crushed slate with stone, resin and glass-fibre reinforcement.
No traces of cement or asbestos are found in most materials.
Reconstituted slates are not affected by the extremes of weather conditions or temperature.

Tile Roofing
It is believed that the first single lap clay roof tiles were formed from baked earth or clay around 2700 BC.
Roof tiles are 'hung' from the framework of a roof by fixing them with nails.
The tiles are usually hung in parallel rows, with each row overlapping the row below it to exclude rainwater and to cover the nails that hold the row below. There are also roof tiles for special positions, particularly where the planes of the several pitches meet. They include ridge, hip and valley tiles.

Clay tile roofing
Clay tiling is a part of the nation's architectural heritage and add to the beauty of the built environment, adding flexibility and choice whatever the style of building - traditional or modern, clay is a high performance roofing product with a traditional appearance that satisfies the diverse demands within the building industry.
New clay roof tiles with an artificially aged appearance can be used to blend in with historic products. Plain tiles are small and rectangular in format and have always been 265mm x 165mm (or in fact 10½ " x 6½ ") in overall size, requiring 60 tiles per square metre.
They perform by overlapping densely up to three tiles deep to achieve a watertight layer. It is this functional requirement that creates their rustic appearance, adding a sense of detail and texture to the roof. This character is enhanced by the effect of cambers longitudinally and across the width.

Concrete tile roofing
From deep flowing pantiles to clean, modern lowpitch profiles, concrete interlocking roof tiles are available for a multitude of roofing requirements. An interlocking concrete tile, is one of the most economical forms of roof tiling. Available in a choice of at least 12 colours and textures, suitable for roof pitches down to 17.5°.
Stace Roofing only use the market leaders in manufacturing concrete tiles that are produced to a level of quality and consistency that is unmatched in the industry.
